Grade School Book Drive
Now Through May 12
Lake Pointe will be collecting children's books for low-income schools in the communities around each of our campuses. This includes new and gently used books for students grades K through 5 consisting of all genres - chapter books, poetry books, and children books.
60% of elementary school classrooms do not have an adequate supply of books for children to effectively learn how to read. Statistics show only 1 book is available for every 300 children in low-income areas. Third grade is a critical milestone where children are expected to transition from learning how to read to reading to learn.
